Maruschka (Maru) Berghaus

Maru is from Cologne, Germany, and began playing tennis at 8 years old. As a junior, she competed in national tournaments and team championships. In ​2017, Maru joined North Carolina Central University's D1 tennis team, where she played as #1 and #2 in their lineup; she was awarded MVP in her freshman year. After graduating as valedictorian in 2021, she played for  St. Thomas University in Miami and earned a master's degree in sports administration. 

Maru joins the WTC team with 5+ years of coaching experience from tennis academies and clubs such as the Marc Kevin Göllner Tennis Akademie in Germany, and the Rafa Nadal Academy in Miami. She works with adults and juniors, specializing in consistency, technique, weapon development, mental strength, and footwork.
